Right on cue, now that school is back in session, my commute is 30 minutes longer each way. So I’m up to almost 5h transportation. Covid pandemic blessing: I remote work 3 days a week.

I’m hoping this discworld adaptation won’t be a train wreck, but I’m not holding my breath…

There’s a lot to be upset about with the French govt these days. But we do have a website to correct “mistakes” in our dealings with the administration (like underreporting income). It’s called oups.gouv.fr - Somebody in the administration has a sense of humor.

Somebody on my street has been posting little green stickers on storefronts with the text « Here, long ago, xxx was sold ». And the descriptions are very literal. I love this kind of street art.

That’s … quite far from the pond.

So true.

Pour les francophones, Les Jours ont d’excellents articles sur la vie en quarantaine, sans hyperbole.[]

This is amazingly crazy. Last year a French defense contractor was offered a joyride in a Rafale. The passenger is ejected. The pilot only manages to land the plane because an the ejection mechanism failed. Very readable report here

I have to say this aligns with my thoughts: despite what a lot of people are hoping/fearing, I think tomorrow will be more of the same, not less. (And yes, I’m angry about it)

Romanticizing quarantine is a class privilege. So true.

Well, that didn’t last long: I’m on part-time duty from tomorrow. At least I’ll be able to give a hand to the kids - because their school’s shutdown response has been abysmal.

Settling in to our new “telecommute during quarantine” routine with two adults and two high school age kids is going to be rocky. But my consultant wife has us covered 616AC4F8-B67E-411F-9A38-CE7E4D371781.jpg

No light leaks on the RB67. Tomorrow’s gonna be a fun day of shooting if I can find that spare roll of 120. 📷

There seems to be nothing in TheBrain that a combination Tinderbox, Hook and MindNode can’t do. Am I missing the point. @jack, @toddgrotenhuis ?

TFW you’ve spent at least an hour getting the colors in your newsletter just right according to your corporate guidelines, and one of your coworkers tells you, a minute after it’s out the door: here’s a copy corporate guidelines, next time, make sure to follow them.

#

I think a combination of Hook.app and Tinderbox is going to make this work. It’s fragile as hell, has barely no automation, but I can have a central hub that links to all the places my projects are spread out: folders, omnifocus, outlook …

#

So know that I’m going all in with Tinderbox … The Brain comes out with version 11 🤷🏻‍♂️ #confusedtinkerer

I really did not expect this beast to come into my life this morning. That’s what I get for checking out the Marché aux Puces for the first time. 97EC3AA2-7555-4839-AF26-57C367707C22.jpg

If you’re going to act twice a day, 6 days a week, maybe you do need cocaine coated throat lozenges.
